Microchipping

Microchipping is the best current technology for identifying lost and stray pets. Here at Parkside we use Identichip Bio-therm chips because these can also be used to scan for body temperature and avoid the need for rectal thermometers. We keep huge stocks and they can be implanted at the time of most visits.

We offer a small discount if we implant id chips during routine surgical procedures as an opportunity to make the exercise even easier on both pet and vet.

Microchips are the size of a  rice grain with a small coil at one end that is activate by the reader to induce a transponder effect and read the digits.

One implant will last for your pet's lifetime - well worth it!

The chips are encased in implant grade glass with a swaged on silicon sheath to encourage fibrosis and prevent migration of the chip.

It is very rewarding to scan a stray animal and be able to reunite pet and owner promptly.

Barclay and Purdy
"Have we been chipped, Purdy?"

"Yes, silly. It was one of the first things the vet's here did when they got us. If you had been chipped by your first owners then they could have been found when you were hurt."

"And our chips can tell our temperature so we don't need those nasty thermometer thingies.."
